First Generation
The mostly with flowerpaintings designed "Shield Clock" was the beginning of the Black Forest Clock history. In the year 1738 Anton Ketterer created the very first Cuckoo Clock in the shape of a Shield Clock. The first industrie located in the middle of the Black Forest was born.
Second Generation
It took 122 years until the Cuckoo Clock became another shape. The carved version was created thru a desing competition in the year 1850 caused by Robert Gerwig, the brilliant engineer who made the Black Forest Railway. The first Clocks had the design of the little houses byside the Railway. The second generation was born.
Third Generation
In the smal Black Forest town "Schonach", the center of the Cuckoo Clock Industrie, the Company is located, who started in the year 2005 to add modern versions of this famous clocks . Rombach & Haas now is offering all the three Generationsof of the most renown item Made in Germany.
